- Andoni Iraola has played down claims that Liverpool are in the Premier League title race, stating it remains too early in the season to evaluate the standings even if they defeat champions Arsenal on Sunday.
- Iraola suggested that any realistic assessment of title contenders should wait until the midpoint of the season, after all teams have played each other once.
- Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher argued that a victory over Arsenal could establish the Reds as the main challengers to the champions this season.
- Liverpool approach the fixture on a strong run of form, having won four consecutive matches before progressing past Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.
- The team could receive a major selection boost ahead of Sunday's clash with the potential return of injury doubts Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz.
