HOLLYWOOD actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has once again voiced her support for Gaza, sharing a powerful statement from the international aid organisation Doctors Without Borders via her Instagram account, highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.
In her post, Jolie – who served for over two decades as a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) – featured the organisation’s declaration describing Gaza as “a mass grave, both for the Palestinian people and for the principles of humanitarianism,” according to Turkish news agency Anadolu Ajansi.
“As Israeli forces continue and expand attacks by air, land, and sea on the Gaza Strip, deliberately displacing civilians and obstructing vital aid, Palestinian lives are once again being taken systematically,” the statement read.
The post also warned that Israel’s deadly assaults pose a severe threat to the safety of humanitarian and medical workers in Gaza.
It called on Israeli authorities to immediately lift what it described as a deadly and inhumane siege on the territory and to take urgent steps to protect the lives of both Palestinian civilians and humanitarian personnel.
The statement concluded by expressing hope for a reinstatement of a ceasefire.
