
Kota Kinabalu: Angeline Kumilau and Dionysia Petrus won the 24th Piala Puteri 2024 golf tournament held here for the first time at the Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club that ended on Monday.
They accumulated a three-day total nett score of 61.25 based on the Texas scramble format to take the title.
Second place went to Chai Mei Lin/Park Ock Nam (66.25) and in third place was the pairing of Surimah Ismail/Norliza Mohd (68).
Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew was the guest of honour at the prize presentation held in the afternoon and also present were Malga president Tunku Puteri Jawahir, Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz and chief executive officer of Sabah Tourism Board Julinus Jeffrey Jimit.

There was also a ‘Best Theme Dressed’ award won by Datin Dr Jeanette Tambakau and Telwant Kaur while the ’Best Borneo Tribal’ costume title went to Dr. Nyana Kalaiwani.
Both Tunku Puteri Jawahir and Jeanette, who was the organising chairperson, expressed their gratitude to the Minister for her presence and support.
They also thanked all the sponsors and those involved to ensure the success of the tournament.
