KOTA KINABALU: Anhui University of Chinese Medicine (AUCM) from China has announced plans to establish its first overseas branch campus in Kota Kinabalu, marking a milestone in Sabah’s higher education landscape.

The decision was confirmed following a courtesy call by AUCM principal Professor Xu Fan on Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor in August.

Supported by the Sabah government under the Sabah Maju Jaya 1.0 blueprint, the initiative aims to enhance human capital development and foster international academic collaboration.

The campus, developed in partnership with Borneo Pacific Group, will offer English-taught interdisciplinary programmes including Traditional Chinese Medicine, TCM with Business Administration, and TCM with Economics.

AUCM said the project will serve as an educational bridge between Malaysia and China, strengthening bilateral ties while positioning Sabah as a rising education hub in the ASEAN region.
