- Joshua Kerry, 28, has been charged with engaging in conduct in preparation of acts of terrorism, including a plot targeting Reform UK leader Nigel Farage MP.
- Kerry is also accused of the murder of former Tory minister and Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe, who died at her home in Devon on 8 July.
- The terrorism charge relates to alleged activities occurring between 31 May 2024 and 8 July 2026, following a Counter Terrorism Policing investigation.
- The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the charge after confirming there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to court.
- The 28-year-old from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 7 October.
