Anne Hathaway diplomatically addresses her box office flop of the year

• Anne Hathaway has enjoyed a landmark year at the box office in 2026, starring in two massive global hits, The Odyssey and The Devil Wears Prada 2.
• The Odyssey passed $1.1 billion globally to become Sir Christopher Nolan’s highest-grossing film, while The Devil Wears Prada 2 achieved over $691 million.
• However, Hathaway’s third 2026 release, the musical drama Mother Mary, failed at the box office, grossing just $3 million against its $20 million budget.
• She diplomatically acknowledged her mixed year in a red carpet interview, saying: “Two movies have done unbelievably well and one movie… was very well respected.”
• The actor is currently promoting her next film, sci-fi thriller The End of Oak Street co-starring Ewan McGregor, which arrives in cinemas on 14 August.
