Jimmy Fallon came to the rescue of Anne Hathaway in an awkward The Tonight Show moment.
The actress appeared on the show on Tuesday (30 April) to promote her new film The Idea Of You.
The film is based on the 2017 Robinne Lee novel, which follows a single mother who sparks an unexpected romance with a boy band star.
Hathaway was trying to describe how Nicholas Galitzine was perfect for her love interest in the movie when she asked the audience if anyone had read the book.
No one responded.After a few seconds of silence, a surprised Hathaway covered her mouth as Fallon joked: “No, we don't read.”
