Another big drop for diesel prices expected next week as Israel-Lebanon truce takes effect

MANILA, Philippines — Diesel and gasoline prices are expected to go down next week, as a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel took effect and US President Donald Trump saying that both the US and Iran may sit down again over the weekend to discuss the conflict in the Middle East, local industry sources said Friday.

Sources said that diesel prices were estimated to drop between P17 and P19 per liter, and gasoline between P2 and P3 per liter.

These estimates are based on the 4-day trading of Mean of Platts, Singapore, the pricing basis of refined goods in Southeast Asia.

This will also be the second consecutive week where diesel and gasoline prices were expected to go down.

Local oil companies implemented roll backs this week, as diesel prices decreased between P2.70-P23 per liter and gasoline by as much as P6.50 per liter.
