TMC leader Sushmita Dev on Wednesday tendered her resignation from Rajya Sabha and is likely to return to the House as a BJP member.
She followed in the footsteps of senior TMC leader Sukhendu Shekhar Ray, who led the revolt against TMC chief Mamata Banerjee in the upper house.

Dev, a former MP of the Congress, had joined the TMC earlier.
She has earlier represented Assam’s Silchar in the Lok Sabha on a Congress ticket.
The TMC is facing an implosion, with 20 Lok Sabha MPs also claiming to quit and become part of the NDA.
A similar story may unfold in Rajya Sabha where TMC has 13 MPs and rebels need nine (two thirds) to break away as per the provisions of Anti Defection law.
Many more MPs of TMC apart from those who have publicly spoken are in touch with the BJP, including Yusuf Pathan and Shatrughan Sinha.
