PDRM also believed that the corpse found on the beach was the son of the suspect who murdered his wife and 10-year-old daughter – the corpses that were found inside the drain.

The suspect is of Rohingya ethnicity and homeless

In a media conference yesterday (August 20), the chief police of Kedah, Deputy Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah said the suspect and his family members are homeless, and the suspect also tested positive for drugs, namely methamphetamine.

“Suspect and his family were living in the abandoned building for 1 week. We also believe the suspect is suffering from family pressure. Since he was under the influence of drugs, we’re not eliminating the possibilities of domestic violence.”

Adzli also said that the suspect has 3 kids,

  • The 10-year-old who was found inside the drain.
  • The 2-year-old who was found on the beach.
  • The 5-year-old who was found alive with the suspect when the latter was arrested.

The corpse of the 2-year-old was dumped into a huge drain in Jalan Pegawai, about 2 KM away from the 1st crime scene before the body drifted into the sea. The murder weapon was also recovered by the police.

A witness also said that he saw the suspect with his 5-year-old son near the huge drain, and said, “it sounded like they were dumping something into the huge drain.”

The suspect was arrested on Monday night (August 10) at a Mosque, and he will be remanded until August 26 while the matter is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Police also urged the public not to come up with any speculations that will interfere with the investigations.
