Kota Kinabalu: The introduction of the Bongao-Lahad Datu ferry services scheduled end September will not result to influx of illegal Filipinos in Sabah.

Instead, the ferry services will pave way for easy access to undocumented Filipinos in Sabah to equip themselves with the relevant travel requirements, according to BIMP-BARMM Business Council (BEBC-BARMM) Chairman Redentor ‘Popoy’ Laudin.

Discussing the issue with Sabah Cross-Border Trader Association (SBCTA) President Razanah Paimin in Zamboanga last Saturday, he believes that the birth of the Bongao-Lahad Datu ferry services on Sept 28 will help address the Sabah Government’s perennial illegal immigrant problem.
