Anthony Loke causes stir in parliament after having breathing difficulty

PARLIAMENT was rattled today as Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook appeared to struggle with his breathing during the ministry's question time.

Loke was seen patting his chest several times, before motioning to his deputy, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, to take over.

Upon taking over, Habibollah told Loke to sit down and calm down.

"YB (Loke), calm yourself down, I will answer this first," he said.

Loke had taken the floor to answer a question from Wong Chen (PH-Subang) on regulations to allow drivers with disabilities holding an A/A1 licence to work as e-hailing drivers.

However, as soon as he stood up, the DAP secretary-general seemed out of breath and needed some time to compose himself.

Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa (BN-Tampin) also told Loke to have a health checkup at the hospital.

"YB (Loke), calm down first. You need to get yourself checked, it's dangerous (for your health)."

But Loke recovered and then continued to answer supplementary questions posed by other lawmakers. – July 10, 2024.
