From today (February 10), owners of private vehicles will no longer be required to display the vehicle licence, also known as road tax stickers on windscreens.

This was recently announced by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook who said in a statement that the move was part of digitalisation plans for the Road Transport Department (JPJ) for motor vehicle licences and driving licences.

He said that vehicle owners can register for JPJ accounts at https://public.jpj.my or the MyJPJ phone application to access digital motor vehicle licences and driving licences.

Meanwhile, Loke added that Section 20 of the Road Transport Act, which requires that motor vehicle licences be displayed on vehicles, will no longer be enforced.

“This implementation will be done gradually, with the first phase covering individual private vehicles and motorcycles owned by Malaysians,” he said during a press conference today.
