THE Anti-Bully Bill 2025 is poised to dominate proceedings in the Dewan Rakyat today, with Members of Parliament expected to debate the legislation after its scheduled second reading.
The Order Paper on Parliament’s official website lists the bill as the principal item of business following the daily oral question-and-answer session.
The session is set to feature a series of questions touching on subsidy restructuring, digital regulation and school governance.
Vivian Wong Shir Yee (PH–Sandakan) will seek clarity from the Ministry of Finance on whether Putrajaya intends to replace the existing subsidy framework with targeted social assistance delivered through the MyKad, citing what she describes as the successful rollout of the SARA distribution system.
Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (PN–Besut) is expected to press the Minister of Economy on the government’s efforts to classify financial assistance based on disposable income. His question highlights concerns over ensuring a fairer subsidy distribution model, including for members of the T20 group who, he notes, are also grappling with rising living costs.
Attention is also likely to fall on a query from Syerleena Abdul Rashid (PH–Bukit Bendera), who will ask the Minister of Communications about plans to amend the FINAS Act 1981 to regulate online content. Her question underscores growing interest in how the government intends to address content disseminated through streaming services and social media platforms.
In the education sphere, Datuk Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan (PN–Tasek Gelugor) will ask whether the Ministry of Education plans to establish wardens as a designated post in schools that require them, a move that would formalise pastoral oversight structures within the school system.
The current 35-day Dewan Rakyat session is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, 4 December. -December 3, 2025
