Kota Kinabalu: It is important for the State Government to hold an engagement session with stakeholders and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) before tabling the anti-hopping bill in the Sabah Legislative Assembly (DUN) this year, said Telupid Assemblyman Jonnybone Kurum.

He said before tabling the bill the State Government also needs to examine the propriety of fully adopting the provisions of the national anti-hop law for expansion to the State.

“Among things that need to be studied is the definition and form of actions that are categorised as party-hopping which leads to the dropping of assemblyman status.
