- Police are searching for individuals who injured officers and damaged vehicles during anti-migration protests in Dover and Portsmouth, as ministers warned offenders "will face the full force of the law".
- Speaking in the Commons, Police minister Sarah Jones insisted there was "no excuse for threatening behaviour or serious disruption," adding that authorities have full government backing "in taking any necessary step to uphold public safety."
- It comes after Hampshire and Isle of Wight police revealed on Monday that "a number of police, Coastguard and Border Force vehicles were damaged" when hundreds of far-right demonstrators descended on Portsmouth.
- The force stated: "A small number of officers were treated at the scene for injuries, but no-one in attendance from any agency or the public was seriously injured."
- Ms Jones cautioned that those who "cross the line from peaceful protest into illegality will face the full force of the law".
