Anti-migrant protests in Portsmouth see seven police officers attacked

  • Seven police officers were assaulted and several vehicles were damaged during an anti-migrant protest in Portsmouth.
  • Around 200 activists gathered after a small boat carrying 140 asylum seekers was intercepted off the coast on Sunday evening.
  • Spencer Wragg, chairman of the Hampshire Police Federation, confirmed there were no immediate arrests on the night but an investigation is under way.
