Antwerp coach Mark van Bommel has announced Arthur Vermeeren is joining Atletico Madrid.
The midfielder was in the stands for Atletico's Copa del Rey quarterfinal win against Sevilla last night. A fee of 25m has been settled between the two clubs.
Van Bommel said: "The transfer is not yet completely closed.
"Arthur is a player of the highest level, we will be able to see him in a few years. He will be worth much more when he has played several games for Atltico Madrid. Whichever club he chooses, he will be fine.
"It was a pleasure to work with a natural talent. It is a shame that he is leaving but it is the law of football. Big teams take players away from small clubs."
