Anwar approves additional RM10 million disaster relief fund for Sabah

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved an emergency allocation of RM10 million through the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) to assist those affected by the recent floods in Sabah.

The additional funds come on top of the RM11 million previously channelled via the state government, and are intended for immediate repairs to critical infrastructure and the direct delivery of aid to flood victims.

“Beyond the RM11 million already disbursed through the state government, I have approved an additional RM10 million through NADMA to be channelled directly to affected victims,” Anwar said in a statement on Facebook.

“Our priority is to ensure the safety, welfare and continuity of life for flood victims, with immediate focus,” he added.

The Prime Minister also confirmed that the entire MADANI government machinery has been mobilised swiftly to ensure that every affected family receives the necessary assistance without delay.

“I am deeply moved by the impact of the floods currently affecting Sabah. I call on everyone to unite in solidarity, driven by compassion, to assist all those affected.

“Let us embody the spirit of togetherness, empathy, and shared responsibility as we face this grave challenge,” he said. - September 15, 2025
