Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says he has no connection to Jeffrey Epstein or parties in the case, responding to a demand for clarification.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denied any connection to the case of the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

In a post on X, Anwar said he only became aware that an external party had cited his name in an email exchange related to the case.

“Praise be to Allah, for the past dozen years as stated in the email, I have had absolutely no connection with any of the parties exchanging those emails, especially Epstein,” he wrote.

He made the remarks following a demand by Armada Bersatu for him to clarify allegations of interaction with Epstein or individuals named in documents disclosed by the US Department of Justice.

The related documents were released by the DOJ as part of transparency efforts in the Epstein investigation.

Anwar concluded his post by saying he would continue sightseeing in Johor Bahru and used the hashtag #DoneExplain.
