KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed hope his meeting with Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar yesterday will take the bilateral relations between Malaysia and Pakistan to greater heights.

In a Facebook post today, he also hoped the friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries would continue to grow.

The bilateral talk between the two leaders took place on the sidelines of the 8th Extraordinary Islamic Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to discuss Israel’s continued attacks and atrocities against Palestine in Riyadh.

Also present were Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir and Foreign Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin.

Held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre, the summit was hosted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is also the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In his speech at the summit, Anwar also urged OIC member countries to consistently and assertively call for an immediate ceasefire and expedite humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
