Chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan, the prosecution of various Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders demonstrates that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is not a reformer, but rather a spiteful one who governs with iron nails.
According to Malaysia Kini, Wan Saiful asserted in a statement that the government's primary goal now is to cripple the PN so that there are no checks and balances in the country.
"Anwar's pressure on the opposition is paralyzing the tie-breaking process."
"Anwar is not a reformer," says Wan Saiful. "He is an old vindictive opportunist with iron nails," he continued, suggesting that nepotism is also widespread in government.
Wan Saiful also pointed out that Anwar, who was formerly imprisoned for abuse of power, is now repeating the same behavior.
"People and foreign observers must recognize Anwar Ibrahim for who he is.
"It would not be surprising if this former prisoner repeats his previous behavior if he is given the opportunity to sit on the throne," he added.
Wan Saiful was accused on February 21 of two counts of soliciting and taking bribes totaling RM6.9 million in relation to the Jana Wibawa project, which was worth RM232 million last year. He pled not guilty, claiming that the charge was selective and politically motivated.
Azam Baki, the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), stated that Muhyiddin would be charged as well. Muhyiddin was charged under multiple parts of the MACC Act and faced numerous charges in court in Kuala Lumpur.
“After dragging him and Muhyiddin to court, the government's attention has shifted to PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang”, said Wan Saiful. "Tan Sri Haji Abdul Hadi is being probed for his remarks against the government change,” he added.
Wan Saiful insisted that there is nothing wrong with that statement since it is true that in the Westminster democratic system that we practice, a change of administration may be done at any time.
