Prime Minister Anwar launches AI Malaysia to drive AI adoption and empower 100,000 youths as value creators.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has launched AI Malaysia as part of efforts to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and support the country’s ambition of becoming an AI-driven nation by 2030, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.

In a statement, Anwar said the initiative, which is expected to benefit about 100,000 youths, would empower the younger generation to become more than just technology users.

He said the initiative would enable them to become creators of value, innovators and key drivers of Malaysia’s future progress.

“The digital future belongs to all of us. This marks a very important beginning towards ensuring the well-being, security and future of our nation.

“Let us work together to build an inclusive, safe and competitive future that benefits all Malaysians,”* he said.

Anwar said AI Malaysia, as the core implementing entity, would spearhead the National AI Action Plan 2026–2030 to accelerate the safe and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, supported by the Malaysia AI Safety Institute.
