PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic), on Sunday, said he remains open to any motion of no-confidence brought against him in Parliament.

He noted that the opposition has repeatedly raised the idea of such a motion over the past three years.

Anwar said if the opposition decides to proceed with the move, the government will not stand in the way.

The remark came after opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin recently hinted at tabling a no-confidence vote.

However, Perikatan Nasional chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the opposition might not have the numbers to push it through.

Anwar previously instructed the Dewan Rakyat Speaker to allow any such motion to proceed if formally tabled.
