Ah, Malaysian politics, where even a simple house arrest can turn into a soap opera. The recent debacle over the Agong's decree regarding Najib Razak's house arrest has left Anwar Ibrahim's government in a bit of a pickle.

Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, known for his gentle subtlety, criticised Anwar for acting like he was unaware of the decree, highlighting the involvement of five of Anwar's ministers in the matter.

Khairy, in his usual eloquence, pointed out that Anwar's ministers were as involved in this mess as a cat in a yarn factory. With the Federal Territories Minister, Home Minister, and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department all caught in the web, Anwar's attempt to distance himself from the issue was about as convincing as a politician's promise during an election campaign.

But wait, there is more! Khairy, the master of understatement, suggested that the government tried to sweep the decree under the rug, hoping it would vanish into thin air.

Well, that plan went as smoothly as a bull in a china shop.

And then there is Zahid, the unexpected hero of this saga. Khairy hinted that Zahid, in a move reminiscent of a chess grandmaster, strategically positioned himself as the Deputy Prime Minister to outmanoeuvre Anwar. Zahid's sudden emergence as a key player in this drama left many wondering if he has been binge-watching political dramas for tips.

In the end, Khairy's comments painted a picture of a government scrambling to deal with the fallout of its own making. With Najib's supporters baying for answers and Zahid's tactical manoeuvring, Anwar's government finds itself in a situation more complex than a Rubik's cube in the hands of a toddler.

As Malaysians watch this political theater unfold, one thing is clear: Anwar's government will need more than just luck to navigate through this mess. Perhaps a crash course in crisis management wouldn't hurt.
