Kota Kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced an additional RM600 million for Sabah and Sarawak’s small and medium enterprises development, it has been reported.

Anwar said RM100 million will be allocated through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), Dayak Daily reported.

"I am expressing the need to support entrepreneurs and traders in Sabah and Sarawak," the Sarawak news site quoted Anwar as saying while delivering his winding-up speech on the Supply Bill 2023 in Parliament on Thursday.

"As such, the [Federal] government will provide a special allocation in the form of micro-loan through BSN amounting to RM100 million and SME loan guarantee facilities worth RM500 million from banks."
