KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that the cultivation of nationhood values must be continuously strengthened to produce individuals with strong identity, integrity and noble principles, thereby elevating Malaysia’s standing.

He said the effort was important in fostering love for the country through the development of a society grounded in nationhood values.

“At the Dewan Kenegaraan Board of Governance Meeting that I chaired yesterday, I emphasised the importance of inculcating nationhood values to ensure the spirit of love for the country continues to flourish among the people,” he said in a Facebook post tonight.

Anwar said he was also briefed on the progress of the National Service Training Programme (PLKN), which has shown encouraging developments and received positive feedback from both participants and parents.

“This programme should continue to be strengthened as a platform to cultivate a strong sense of identity, discipline and resilience among the people,” he said.

Anwar said the meeting also highlighted the role of the Nationhood Fellows in bringing together prominent figures and statesmen from various backgrounds to contribute ideas towards reinforcing the nation-building agenda. — Bernama
