
Kota Kinabalu: The Regional Incentive Payment (BIW) will be replacing the Sabah and Sarawak Incentive Payment (BISS) for Army troops effective July 2023.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made the surprise announcement during his visit to the Army's Fifth Infantry Division at the Lok Kawi Camp, here, on Wednesday.
He said 33,586 Army troops serving in Sabah and Sarawak or vice versa are to receive the additional financial implication of RM87.8 million annually based on recruitment in 2022.
“All this time, Malaysian Army officers and members sent to other regions receive BISS or the Peninsular Incentive Payment (BISM).
