In a lively moment at Parliament, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim shared a friendly exchange with Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, humorously pressing him on his rumored relationship with artist Bella Astillah. The lighthearted conversation unfolded when Syed Saddiq fulfilled his earlier promise of gifting Anwar two Baju Melayu outfits. On Tuesday (March 4), he presented the Prime Minister with one in blue—Anwar’s favorite color and the signature shade of his party, PKR—and another in pink.
The pink outfit, however, became the subject of playful teasing. With a grin, Anwar quipped, “Bella needs to be next to me, then I can wear this,” referring to the pink Baju Melayu.
Syed Saddiq, who serves as a brand ambassador for the clothing label, was caught off guard but laughed it off. “Don’t tease me like that. That’s mine… Give me a chance,” he replied.
The banter didn’t end there, as Anwar pressed further, asking if Syed Saddiq had any plans to settle down.
“So, have you set a date yet?” Anwar asked with a knowing smile.
Syed Saddiq, still amused, responded, “Let’s just pray for it, Datuk Seri. Don’t worry—whatever happens, you’ll be the first to know.”
This friendly exchange comes amid growing speculation about Syed Saddiq and Bella Astillah’s close relationship. Their bond has been a topic of public interest ever since the two were chosen as brand ambassadors for a well-known clothing brand.
Beyond their professional association, the duo has been seen spending time together from joint photoshoots to adventurous hikes, including a climb to the peak of Mount Kinabalu in Sabah.
For now, though, it remains a subject of good-natured teasing—especially when Anwar is around.
