Anwar to visit Sandakan fire victims tomorrow

KOTA KINABALU, April 21 - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will visit Sabah tomorrow to meet victims of the recent fire in Kampung Bahagia, Sandakan, which razed 1,000 homes and displaced over 9,000 residents.

He will visit the incident site at Kampung Bahagia Mosque at 4.20pm before calling on evacuees at three temporary relief centres (PPS), beginning with SK Gas at 4.35pm, Dewan PPR Taman Batu Sapi at 5pm, and Dewan Lintas Sibuga at 5.30pm.

Anwar will survey conditions at the centres and ensure smooth distribution of aid.

The fire at Kampung Bahagia occurred early on Sunday, destroying 1,000 homes and leaving more than 9,000 residents unhoused.
