US tech giant Apple is set to open its first developer centre in Berlin this year, the company announced on Wednesday.

The fifth Apple Developer Centre worldwide, the facility will be located in the German capital's central Mitte district.

Apple also runs developer centres in Shanghai, Singapore, Bengaluru and at its company headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Apple described the centres as "dedicated spaces designed for in-person developer sessions, labs, workshops, and appointments across a wide range of Apple technologies and platforms."

Apple relies on its apps working seamlessly across the company’s various devices, such as iPhones, Mac computers and iPad tablets.
