LAHAD DATU: Sabah’s Independence Day on Aug. 31 should be commemorated just like the Sarawak Day, said Higher Education Deputy Minister Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal.

He said there is a lot of confusion regarding Sabah’s Independence Day, which falls on the same date as the country’s Independence Day, but in a different year (1963).

The Lahad Datu MP said all celebrations, including both Sabah Day and Malaysia Day should be celebrated to appreciate the independence that citizens now enjoy.
