April Fools' Joke Gone Too Far? M’sians Enraged At This Media Company For Claiming ‘Workplace Abuse’

It's been a longggggg day and some of us are starting to get tired of the April Fool's Day jokes.

Especially when the jokes, don't seem to be joking the right way.

For example, when a local media company, took to Twitter today to post an 'exposé' on their editor-in-chief in regards to 'workplace abuse'. They say "For months, the Cilisos team has suffered mental and verbal abuse by our editor-in-chief. We demand change and we will no longer stay silent."

Malaysians immediately responded. And they weren't too happy.

No. No it isn't.

As you may have guessed, it turned out to be another April Fool's Day joke. Though, in the article they have included videos and photos documenting their case, all of it are simply staged for the day. Making even the trigger warning at the start of their article, a joke.

The article ends with a Here's how you can help and this is where they inform readers that the whole thing is for April Fool's Day and none of it is true.

"After careful consideration, we decided that this was the only way to go...for an April Fool's joke!"

In here, it is also shared that the editor-in- chief is in fact a nice boss.

1. Document everything that is necessary and needed for your case.

2. Reach out to your HR department to file a complaint and for them to start an investigation.

3. If the above, does not deem worthy, file a compliant via walk- in/letter/phone call to nearest the Labour Office.
