PENAMPANG: Archbishop John Wong of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu urged the faithful to have more children for the sake of future generations. He was giving a homily during a special Kaamatan Mass at Terawi Holy Nativity Church, attended by all priests in his diocese.

Regarding the theme of celebrations that followed after the mass, he said preserving the positive Kaamatan cultures in the family actually propagates the teachings of Christ.

Among the 20 performances on stage, several priests shared their hidden talents. Rector Michael Modoit can easily sing with a live band with such quality vocal tones that some parishioners urged him to consider making at least one album of both Kaamatan and gospel songs.

Msgr. Nicholas Stephen thrilled the crowd with his renditions of Kaamatan and gospel tunes with a pan flute.
