  • Turkey experienced an increase in holidaymakers and bookings during March, despite the ongoing Middle East conflict.
  • Data from the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) showed a 16 per cent rise in British visitors year-on-year for March.
  • The final week of March, from the 24th to the 30th, saw a significant 64 per cent jump in UK visitor numbers compared to the previous year.
  • The TGA reassured travellers that popular Turkish holiday destinations like Istanbul and Antalya are located hundreds of miles from the conflict zone.
  • Online travel agency On the Beach reported a 160 per cent increase in bookings to Turkey in the last week of March, largely for last-minute Easter holidays.
