Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has been carrying a groin injury, it has been revealed.
Fernandez was forced off after a half-hour in Chelsea's Carabao Cup quarterfinal win against West Ham.
An Argentine source reports: At first this early change attracted attention because Enzo had had no problems during the 31 minutes spent on the pitch. He wasn't even treated by the team's medical staff and left alone, without the need for a stretcher.
"In any case, the former River Plate and Benfica player is not 100% physically and has been suffering from groin pain for several weeks now.
"The number 5 was seen leaving the field with tears in his eyes and had to be consoled by his coach. The tears were of anger and anguish because he has been suffering from this problem for some time now and he cannot leave it behind. On Wednesday he will undergo tests."
