- Petal, Ariana Grande’s eighth studio album, was released on Friday to overwhelmingly positive reviews.
- Rolling Stone gave the album four out of five stars, saying that the rage the singer exhibits on its 12 tracks “brings out Ariana Grande at her best”.
- Variety said that Grande “continues to surprise” and described the album as “darker, moodier and a lot more blunt” than 2024’s Eternal Sunshine.
- The Times said that the “ethereal” album is an “old-fashioned triumph” for Grande, while the Telegraph described it as being “attacked by a lovely butterfly”.
- Pitchfork gave Petal 6.5 out of 10, saying that it “scans as intimate and experimental even as it retreads familiar territory”.
