Arifin retains PMBS presidency unopposed

Kota Kinabalu: Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif has retained the presidency of the Sabah Brunei Community Association (PMBS) unopposed for the 2026-2028 term.

PMBS Secretary-General Norhasan Ismail said the posts of President, Deputy President and Vice-President I were won uncontested following resolutions adopted by 31 of the association’s 32 eligible branches during their triennial delegates’ meetings held throughout May.

He said the resolutions called for the three top positions not to be contested at the upcoming PMBS Triennial Delegates Meeting.

As a result, Mohd Arifin was returned as President, while Datuk Pengiran Saifuddin Pengiran Tahir retained the Deputy President’s post and Pengiran Japar Pengiran Osman remained Vice-President I.

Norhasan said nominations have been received for the election of nine Central Committee members, with the final list of eligible candidates to be announced soon.

The PMBS Triennial Delegates Meeting for the 2026-2028 term will be held on June 13 at Dewan Saadah, Wisma Muis, beginning at 8.30am.
