The fleet includes 10 Tata electric vehicles: six Harriers, three Curvvs, one Punch EV. The expedition is set to navigate remote border areas of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, including Umling La (19,024 ft) and Chang La (17,590 ft), before concluding at the Hall of Fame, Leh, on June 22.
The expedition team is being led by Major Aman Singh Yadav. The 17-member crew includes Army personnel, Tata EV experts and digital content creators.
Besides testing EV endurance in extreme terrain, the expedition team will engage with local communities to promote conservation and pay homage to fallen heroes at the Rezang La War Memorial.
The initiative highlights the Army’s commitment to innovation and the protection of the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
