MANILA, Philippines —The 10th Infantry (Agila) Division of the Philippine Army deployed additional forces from the 67th Infantry (Agila) Battalion and 102nd Division Reconnaissance Company to augment ongoing security operations for the 2026 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections.
The troops were sent off during a ceremony at the Division Headquarters, Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., Brgy. Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro, on August 30 as part of the Army’s continuing efforts to support a safe, peaceful, and orderly electoral process in BARMM.
The augmentation complements the forces already deployed by the civision and supports the election security efforts of the 6th and 11th Infantry Divisions within their respective areas of responsibility.
During the ceremony, Major General Alvin Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry Division, reminded the troops that protecting the people’s right to suffrage is a shared responsibility and that their mission extends beyond security to preserving public confidence in the electoral process.
“The right to vote is a fundamental right of every Filipino. Our responsibility is to help ensure that every voter can exercise this right freely, safely, and without fear,” MGen Luzon said.
“Our loyalty is to the Constitution, to the people, and to our mission,” Luzon said.
The 10th Infantry Division continues working with partner units and stakeholders in securing a peaceful, safe, orderly, and credible electoral process in BARMM.
The first BARMM elections will happen this coming September 14.
