Arsenal academy director Mertesacker delivers Werder Bremen response after job offer

Arsenal academy director Per Mertesacker has rejected an approach from Werder Bremen.

Werder want their former centre-half as new sporting director.

But BILD says Mertesacker as turned down the prospect and remains committed to his Gunners job.

Mertesacker has been working as academy director since 2018.

At Werder, the new sports director should be chosen by the end of March.
