Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits Emile Smith Rowe faces more weeks out.

The midfielder has suffered a knee strain in training.

Arteta said: "He will be out for weeks. How many will be determined in relation to how he progresses in the next few weeks.

"Big blow as he was getting some momentum and some minutes. We were starting to get the Emile that we needed but unfortunately, he is out."

On skipper Martin Odegaard being recalled for the trip to Newcastle, Arteta added: "Yeah, we have tried to offload him a little bit as he had a little issue he was grappling with but he has done much better the last few days and it was good to see him make a contribution against West Ham. He will train today and if he is fine then he will be ready."
