Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to reports that defender Pablo Mari was the victim of a stabbing.
The Gunners boss was informed of the unfortunate news involving the club's loanee today.
Asked by reporters about Mari, who is playing for Monza in Serie A, Arteta had the following to say:
He stated to reporters: "I just found out."
"I know Edu [Arsenal technical director] has been in touch with his relatives.
“He's in hospital but he seems to be okay."
The club added: "We understand he's in hospital and OK but know no more than that at this time."
Monza CEO Adriano Galliani released a statement through the club Twitter account: "Dear Pablo, we are all here close to you and your family, we love you, keep fighting as you know how to do, you are a warrior and you will get well soon"
