Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta explained benching Gabriel Martinelli for victory at Aston Villa.
Martinelli jumped from the bench to help earn Arsenal a dramatic 4-2 win.
Before kickoff, Arteta said, "Well it's to give Leandro (Trossard) the chance he deserves in the starting XI.
"He's been impacting the team every time he's been on the field and we needed some changes and energy as well in the front line."
The Gunners are back on top of the table with the win.
