Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta insists they can learn from Sunday's 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Emirates stadium.

Arteta was speaking ahead of tomorrow's Carabao Cup tie with Brentford.

He said, "Mistakes happen and that is a part of football. It happens and you have to be lucky that the opponent doesn't punish you.

"It cannot get any worse than that and they proved their quality. It was a turning point in the game and was probably the best moment we had in the game. We have to accept that and move on.

"I think the expectations that we created and the culture [is] that we want to win every single match. We have six players injured, top, top players injured and it is what it is. We want to get better.

"We want to be better but on Wednesday night (against PSV) we were incredible. But then on Saturday we draw and we have to improve.

"We had a huge chance 1v1 [against Tottenham] before the 1-0, and then Gabi [Jesus] had another one. They are defining moments and you have to make the moments.

"We speak [about how against] PSV we were expectational and then three days later we weren't.

"It is the hardest thing to do, to put the ball into the back of the net. We didn't have the efficiency needed."
