Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has opened up about what he learned at Real Madrid as a youngster.

Odegaard signed for the La Liga giants when he was a teenager, but spent most of his Madrid career on loan.

However, the Gunners talisman admits that he did get to learn a lot from senior pros at the time - including Cristiano Ronaldo.

He told The Players' Tribune: "They were all very kind, and the ones who spoke English - Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo - took extra care of me in the beginning.

"They gave me advice and helped me a lot.

But honestly I don't think any of them were particularly worried about a 16-year-old from Norway taking their place in the team."
