Arsenal chief Edu remains in the hunt for Gremio midfielder Bitello.
Edu is keen on Bitello, who is also a target for Portuguese clubs.
Arsenal are pushing to close an agreement for Bitello - though he doesn't yet qualify for a UK work permit.
Gremistas says Edu could sign the midfielder and loan him back to Gremio for the new season.
Bitello will cost 8.5m and could also move on loan to a European team.
