Arsenal have shelved plans to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The 25-year-old has linked with a move to the Emirates for months.

According to the Daily Star, the Gunners have put their pursuit of Calvert-Lewin on hold as a result of fears over the England international's form and fitness last season.

Mikel Arteta has instead identified Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus as his number one target.

The north London club have reached advanced talks to sign the Brazil International.

City are demanding at least £50m for the 25-year-old.
