Arsenal have held talks with Jack Wilshere as they look to fill their U23 and U18 coaching positions.

The Gunners lost their U23s boss, Kevin Betsy, and U18s head coach, Dan Micciche, earlier this month after they moved to League Two side Crawley Town.

According to the Evening Standard, academy chief Per Mertesacker was had words with ex-teammate Wilshere about the vacant roles.

Internal candidates are also being considered by the north London club.

Wilshere trained with Arsenal for months last season before securing a short-term move to Aarhus.

With his spell in Denmark over, the 30-year-old could look fulfil his dream of coaching.
