Arsenal survived a late fight-back by Nottingham Forest to earn an opening day win at Emirates stadium.

Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah struck for the hosts before Taiwo Awoniyi struck late to setup a nervous finish for the Gunners. However, they held out to win 2-1.

The game had been delayed by 30 minutes because of an e-ticketing system issue. With many fans left outside the stadium at the scheduled 12:30pm kickoff time, it was agreed to delay the match start for a half-hour.

Nketiah and then Saka struck inside the opening 32 minutes before Forest fought back via Awoniyi inside the final ten minutes.

However, Arsenal held on to claim the three points.
